Zigo Expands Dealer Network For Zigo Leader

14 new locations in the US and Canada

South Orange, NJ, November 4, 2007: SOMA Cycle, Inc. (dba Zigo) today announced that 14 new locations in the US and Canada will carry the innovative Zigo Leader carrier bike, which was introduced at the Interbike show in September.

The Zigo Leader is a lightweight commuter bicycle with an integrated Child Pod™ carrier and four distinct operating modes:

  • As a three-wheeled carrier bike, with an adult cyclist turning the pedals and one or two children in the forward-located Child Pod, it is the ideal vehicle for transporting children or recreational cycling;
  • The Child Pod converts in seconds to a jogging stroller suitable for use on multiple surfaces.
  • The Child Pod is also configurable as a maneuverable standard-format stroller with caster wheels, allowing the Leader to be used around the neighborhood, in the mall, or on a boardwalk or walking path.
  • Finally, the urban-style bicycle is light and maneuverable, with or without the detachable Child Pod.

The Leader converts easily between these familiar and functional modes and still folds compactly for storage.

Zigo authorized dealer locations are A1 Bicycles (Boise, ID), Bicycle Bill’s (St. Paul, MN), Bicycle Garage Indy (Indianapolis, IN), Bicycle Garage Indy South (Greenwood, IN), Bike Doctor (Lithicum Heights MD), City Cycle (Houston, TX), Cyclone Cycle (Houston TX), Gear and Training (Rogers, MN), Rasmussen Bike Shop (West Des Moines, IA), Tempe Bicycle Super Store (Tempe, AZ) and Tempe Bicycle West (Tempe, AZ).

Zigo Authorized Dealer locations in Canada are Curbside Cycle (Toronto, Ontario), Bikes on Wheels (Kensington Market, Ontario) and Rain City Bikes (Vancouver, British Columbia).

“This is the best new product in the category I’ve seen, and I’ve been doing this for thirty years,” stated Don Watterson of Curbside Cycle in Toronto, a new Zigo Dealer.

“We look forward to working with our dealers in bringing this great new product to market. We’re adding dealers at a rapid rate and expect to have coverage in most major US markets by mid-2008.” explained Russell Bockin, SOMA Cycle’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

SOMA Cycle, Inc. (dba Zigo) designs and develops human-powered vehicles, strollers, and carrier bikes for use by active parents or other caregivers along with their children. Its first product is the Zigo Leader and related accessories.
